Arizona's Medical Marijuana Dispensary system was established after the Arizona Medical Marijuana Act was approved by Arizona voters in November of 2010. The law required the Arizona Department of Health Services to set up a Medical Marijuana program that included a dispensary system to distribute and sell medical marijuana to qualified patients and designated caregivers.
The Department of Health Services held a lottery in August of 2012 and dispensary licenses were awarded randomly to qualified applicants. There were 97 Medical Marijuana dispensary licenses awarded. In December of 2012, the first state licensed Medical Marijuana dispensary in Arizona opened for business in Glendale. Today there are dozens of medical marijuana dispensaries operating across the State.
We believe the dispensaries will provide safe, professional, and convenient access to quality medical grade cannabis, edibles, and other products for patients throughout Arizona. There are currently eight dispensaries in Maricopa County. There are multiple state licensed medical marijuana dispensaries in Phoenix open for business. Glendale has two state licensed Medical Marijuana dispensaries. The cities of Goodyear, Surprise, Tempe, Wickenburg, Sedona, and Flagstaff each have state licensed medical marijuana dispensaries open for business providing quality medical grade cannabis products in a secure and professional environment to certified patients.
Valley Evaluation Centers would like to give many thanks and cheers to the employees, team members, partners, owners, and everyone involved in the process of helping to get the doors open for each medical marijuana dispensary.
